Why Aluminum over steel?
Aluminum is 2.5 times less dense then steel. Why does that matter? Well, these grills are being bolted to plastic. With our competitors grills being made from steel, they are having issues with the plastic cracking. You can avoid this problem by going with aluminum.
If this same grill was made from steel it would be almost 12 pounds. Since this is made from aluminum its only 4lbs. The weight difference will really lessen the fatigue on the plastic of the OEM grill.
